Chief IT Officer

General Description of Position:

The CIO will be responsible for the team delivering excellence and innovation in all technology aspects of the company.

You will lead and grow a team (currently three staff plus additional contractors) responsible for:
  • Web development
  • Software
  • Automation
  • Online data
  • Networks 
  • Cyber security 

This is a senior management role established to take forward our rapidly growing, group-wide, systems infrastructure across multiple countries and currencies. You will oversee the development and implementation of mission-critical applications and technology to support the company’s long-term goals. 

Primary Responsibilities:
  • As a department leader, uphold the moral and spiritual standards required of Christian leaders, in relation to each area of their work and their lives in general. Serve as a key participant in management meetings, championing IT development, and addressing issues openly and quickly.
  • Driving the innovation and advancement of our websites (currently five, across 3 countries) working with and directing our outsourced web developers. 
  • IT budget management.
  • Assisting the development of our digital marketing strategy, working with outsourced marketing agencies.
  • The security and backup of equipment and data in the system.
  • Effectively manage the IT team.
  • Implement and manage technical systems for E-commerce (e.g. ONIX, EDI).

Secondary Responsibilities:
  • To monitor and coordinate cost-effective systems, computing, and telecommunications programs.
  • The automation of daily tasks, and data feeds, warehouse management solutions, and improving network and communication capabilities.
  • Create and maintain computer systems documentation. 
  • Programming, troubleshooting, special reports, and systems design. 
  • Provide technical support for company personnel, and ensure all IT software/hardware is fit for purpose and cost efficient.
  • Instruct and train 10ofThose personnel in basic operating procedures. 
  • Maintain and develop company databases and software licenses.

Qualifications and Experience:
  • 5+ years of IT experience in a small to medium-sized company.
  • Education to a Bachelor's Degree level or above in a relevant field.
  • Able to demonstrate experience of leading IT innovation and creativity.
  • Proven coding experience as well as cloud-tech experience.
  • A successful track record managing IT staff, outside contractors, and vendors, and strong project management experience.
