Smart Church Solutions is hiring a
Remote Director of Product Management
📍 Remote
Position Overview
The Director of Product Management is the strategic and operational owner of the eSPACE platform. As a solo product leader to start, this role will be deeply hands-on—shaping product strategy, building the roadmap, managing execution, and serving as the connective tissue across engineering, customer success, sales, and marketing.
The ideal candidate is revenue-driven, innovative, and forward thinking—someone who proactively keeps up with industry trends in SaaS, CMMS, ChMS, IoT, and facility stewardship. This person is naturally curious, collaborative, and disciplined, able to view product decisions through both customer empathy and data-driven analysis.
This role requires strong discernment: the ability to understand customer pain points, identify patterns across the broader market, and distinguish between individual preferences and true product opportunities. The Director must be able to dig deeper, ask insightful questions, challenge assumptions, prioritize confidently, and lead realistically without being swayed by emotion.
This leader will ensure eSPACE continues to be the premier facility stewardship platform in the market and that every product decision delivers measurable value to both the customer and the business.
Key Responsibilities
1. Product Strategy & Vision
- Own and continually refine a revenue-focused, innovation-forward product vision for eSPACE.
- Translate business strategy into a clear, impactful product roadmap aligned with growth, retention, and long-term value creation.
- Stay informed on industry trends, competitor moves, and emerging technologies to ensure eSPACE remains best-in-class.
- Communicate the product strategy and rationale clearly and consistently across all teams.
2. Roadmap Ownership & Prioritization
- Prioritize the product backlog using a balance of customer insights, revenue impact, engineering considerations, and strategic objectives.
- Apply strong analytical judgment to forecast impact, assess ROI, and set clear expectations for timeline and benefit.
- Utilize discernment to filter customer feedback, identifying whether a need is individual, segment-specific, or broadly market-relevant.
3. Product Discovery & Customer Insights
- Serve as the “voice of the customer,” conducting interviews, research, and discovery activities to deeply understand pain points and friction.
- Analyze behavior data, feature usage, and best practices to identify improvement opportunities and inform future development.
- Engage with external partners, integrators, and thought leaders to remain connected to emerging trends in facility management and IoT.
4. Product Delivery & Execution
- Write clear, well-defined user stories, requirements, and acceptance criteria grounded in data and validated insights.
- Collaborate daily with Engineering and QA to ensure timely, high-quality feature delivery and platform stability.
- Drive the product launch process with cross-functional coordination across Marketing, Sales, and Customer Stewardship/Success.
- Think creatively and strategically—looking beyond “what exists” to “what should exist” for the future of facility stewardship.
- Write clear, well‑defined user stories and requirements with measurable criteria for each.
5. Metrics, Analysis & Product-Led Growth Influence
- Monitor key product metrics including adoption, engagement, NRR, GRR, churn risk, and ARR contribution.
- Use data to detect trends, validate assumptions, and adjust priorities.
- Identify friction points and accelerators that support product‑led growth.
- Prioritize automation improvements in partnership with Engineering and QA.
- Rebuild and reinforce the discipline, structure, and predictability of the product development life cycle, including accurate estimation practices with the development team
5. Technical Architecture Awareness & Modernization Partnership
- Understand architectural constraints and modernization needs sufficiently to make strong prioritization decisions.
- Partner with Engineering on major modernization efforts including the .NET 4.8 → .NET 8 migration.
- Support the elimination of legacy stored procedures.
- Sequence major technical debt initiatives intentionally.
- Communicate architectural impacts and tradeoffs to leadership and non‑technical teams.
- Ensure tech‑debt initiatives are sequenced transparently and realistically.

- Demonstrated ability to stay current on industry developments, SaaS best practices, and emerging technologies.
- Highly collaborative; excels at cross-functional communication and alignment.
- Natural curiosity and drive to improve, innovate, and push the product forward.
- Exceptional discernment—able to differentiate between isolated customer requests and true market-level opportunities.
- Proven ability to dig deeper, ask strong questions, prioritize confidently, and maintain emotional objectivity.
