Remote Director of Human Resources

The Human Resources Director is responsible for ensuring the delivery of our programs and initiatives are closely aligned with the company values and organizational objectives. From its culture, structure, and processes, to guiding the executive leadership team, the Human Resources Director participates in efforts to further the company’s mission and overall success.
Responsibilities
- Administers the human resource services including, but not limited to, compensation, benefits, and leaves; performance; productivity, recognition, and morale; occupational health and safety; and administration.
- Responsible for the services delivered to our employees across all stages of the employee’s journey with us, from onboarding, through separation, ensuring that the quality of the service experience is confidential, timely, excellent, and that the service is available and can be counted on.
- Responsible for ensuring that Human Resources collaborates well with various teams in other divisions of the company to accomplish the goals of the organization.
- Responsible for the processes and people of the Human Resources team and that operational and workforce changes improve the efficiency and effectiveness of the unit.
- Responsible for fostering professional development and growth of the team through strategic and effective mentorship and training.
- Lead the Human Resources team to be a healthy and effective group founded on trust within the group, behaving according to clear expectations, and focusing together on solving the problems that stand in the way of a greater capability and a more engaged team.
- Lead the Human Resources team using a communications program that conveys clarity and inspires confidence and unity in light of whatever most relevant threats, challenges, changes, and successes are in view.
- Researches and maintains knowledge of trends, best practices, regulatory changes, and new technologies relevant to their role.
- Monitors and ensures the organization's compliance with federal, state, and local employment laws and regulations, and recommended best practices; reviews and modifies policies and practices to maintain compliance. Applies this knowledge to operations, communicates, and trains all levels of employees regarding changes in policy, practice, and applicable law.
- Develops and implements departmental budget.
Qualifications
- Minimum of 10 years of relevant Human Resources work experience, including 7 years of management experience.
- Demonstrated capability to lead change and improve processes while bringing your team along for the journey.
- Proven track record of developing people and managing high-performing teams.
- Consistent ability to communicate effectively, earn trust, and develop positive working relationships across all aspects and all levels of the business, energizing people and teams, and establishing cooperation across functions.
- Strategic decision-making capabilities with the understanding of inherent risks, and the implications of decisions and the courage to commit appropriate resources within the context of the strategy.
- A high level of emotional intelligence, a servant leadership mentality, and a sense of personal responsibility over your work and that of your teams.
- Strict adherence to ethical standards and integrity.
- Thorough knowledge of benefits administration, Payroll administration, and employment-related laws and regulations.
- Bachelors degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, or related field required; Masters degree preferred.
- SHRM-CP or SHRM-SCP highly preferred.
- Must be able to lift 15 pounds at times.
- Travel is primarily local during the business day in your own personal vehicle, with valid driver’s license and insurance. Some out-of-area and overnight travel may be expected.
